Where do you buy decent meat?

I think I’ve just done my last Tesco shop - you can’t buy any free range chicken, and I’ve just been preparing some thighs which were just full of blood clots and bone shards 🤢 So where do you buy good, free range, chicken and meat? We live very rurally (hence the Tesco shop - they’re the only supermarket that deliver to us) and we don’t have a good butcher nearby.

Online! Green Pasture Farms is great, isn’t massively expensive and has really interesting cuts of meat. Plus it’s all free range and grass fed. Their chicken is better than any I’ve had.

Donald Russel is also good for meat.

I usually get a large delivery once a month, split it up and freeze. Pretty certain it doesn’t cost a huge amount more than Tesco, but it’s so much nicer.

Online
Farmers markets
Go to a butcher and bulk buy
(I watched a lady in my butcher do her monthly meat shop - all vacuum sealed to be frozen when she got home)

Talk which online stores do you recommend? And thanks Teddy, Green Pasture looks really good.

I do not use any - I am lucky to have a fantastic butcher near me
BUT
THis page lists several producers

Your local county farmers markets will have a similar list ...
