but I would like a recommendation before I go ahead and order any.
It is a treat for my dad - he doesn't like flowers. Has anyone had any positive meat buying on line and sent by post experiences?
Cheers me dears.

National Trust run several such schemes. One near me on side of Snowdon.Sorry can't remember the name of the farm (Hafod y Llan?) but should be easy to find. There are other NT farms too.

moondog · 01/05/2007 20:00

Ceolas you are a star - that looks like just the thing. Is he the guy off the tv? Dad would live that.

My MIL buys meat from Scotland and gets it delivered to Kent and says it is fantastic. Want me to find out the name? There is probably lovely meat farmed here in Kent but hey, she hasn't heard of her carbon footprint and is old (and a bit mad) so I'll let her off!

moondog · 01/05/2007 20:01

Traed Moch

AFAIK, he only farms the pigs, so not sure where the other meat comes from

Kbear · 01/05/2007 20:08

Thank God, I'm not emotionally strong enough for another conversation with her today.

She rang me earlier to tell me (all in one breathless sentence) that the suite they were getting delivered wasn't in Aisle 21 when the men went to get it but it was on a lorry on it's way to something beginning with S, she told my DH earlier what the place was, now couldn't remember, is he there?, no he's at work, oh, it was a place beginning with S, Sittingbourne, Sheerness, Sheppey, Shepton Mallet, Shipley, um, something with an S anyway, what are you doing home I wasn't expecting anyone to be in.

So why did you ring then?

Kbear collapses in heap.

It's all that meat she eats....

moondog · 01/05/2007 20:09

My SIL got our Christmas ham from Jimmy's. It would have been lovely had she not burnt it!! (not as good as ours though, our first pig is ready next month )

spudmasher · 01/05/2007 21:12

Have ordered it!Sausages, steaks and pork chops - like a barbeque in a box for him. Very exciting - wish I'd got something for myself now!!!!
