Best chocolate cake recipe?

I've got to make one as a birthday cake. Looking for a traditional chocolate fudge type recipe, rather than a more grown up one, with lots of icing. I'm planning to decorate it with buttons. Any recipes or good tips? Thanks!

I've made nigella's old fashioned chocolate cake before so I'm thinking of trying her chocolate fudge cake...

Also tips for decorations are welcome :-)

Nigella's chocolate fudge cake is my favourite cake recipe. I make it at least once a month and everyone loves it.

If you make it, don't worry about how wet the batter is. It comes out of the oven beautiful and moist

Thanks @Tellmewhatyouknow! I used Nigella's recipe and it was the best I've ever made! I wasn't sure about it because the method and ingredients (oil mainly) seemed a bit odd to me but it really worked! It turned out to be huge too

Another Nigella for me... sour cream chocolate cake. Everyone loves it, kids and adults. I usually decorate with chocolate buttons.
