How long do freshly made buns last

Just baked some buns and I’m wanting to put some buttercream on them.How long will they keep Once I’ve applied the buttercream and how would I store them.They’re going to be consumed in 48 hrs.

Put them in a tin with a tight lid...they'll be alright for a week at least...any stray ones will be perfectly fine with custard for up to a fortnight in my experience...but generally they don't last that long!!

I've baked today, the ones I baked last Wednesday were finished yesterday and were fine. Store in an airtight container.
