Am I the only one who CANT make a white sauce???

Anything that required flour butter and milk I fuck up without failure every single time. Can someone please provide me with a good recipe and fool proof method to put an end to my kitchen disasters.

Butter, flour and milk in the pan and whisk to mix and cook. Never fails. However if you realise it isn't thick enough don't just put more flour in, it will go lumpy. Mix the flour with some cold milk until smooth and then add it - whisking as you go! I have one of those very small whisks thats coiled in semie circle.

Found the Gordon Ramsay video I mentioned earlier. Sorry, seems I lied, it's just over 2 minutes! 25 g butter, 25 g flour, 300 ml COLD milk. Make a roux with butter & flour, then milk added 1/3 at a time.

Campion's method above sounds interesting but proportions would be helpful ;)
