Air fryer? Should I invest? Which one?

Been toying with idea of air fryer- seems like a good one in
Argos- 2 in one- good reviews etc

www.argos.co.uk/product/2419390

But not sure if it's worth it- just to for my chip cravings as apparently makes great healthy chips- I will make in oven slimming world chips but always kind of ...meh!

I cook for 3 kids and DH- make most meals from scratch - not much freezer food maybe once a fortnight - nuggets and oven chips type meal.
I don't have a deep fryer. No intention of getting one.
Only other oven type meals we do are fish fingers maybe once a week sausages again maybe once a week.
We eat mainly stews- pasta bakes- roast dinners- chops or fish. Pasta/potatoes / rice and veg
Mostly made night before and reheated when in from sports or school
I use an instant pot lot more than I thought I would- toyed with that for a while too and don't regret it.
So what's the verdict?? Yes or no- and if yes which one ??

I came to ask this as well! Did you get one?

mammaknow · 04/06/2018 07:38

No not yet- they are pricey- and just not sure if I'll use it- I often cook for 2/3 days in advance things like stews , curry’s , soups- that keep in fridge and just need heating up- makes weekday dinners much easier- we rarely do oven food, or chips, maybe a Friday night. I don't have a deep fat fryer, and think this may be an alternative to that??

I love mine.
Homemade chips are great in it.
Can also do things like crispy bacon, sausages, burgers (all the fat drips out)

I even do cheese on toast in mine

Which one did you get? Would you be able to feed family of 5- 2adults, 3 kids? Is it big enough for that?

I've got the breville halo but only because it's cheaper and my tefal died on me.

We're a family of 6 and I can fit enough chips or sausages in.

Yeah I was wondering if it was out an alternative to a deep fat fryer. I used a family members one yesterday to cook sausages and they were quite good. But is it easier to clean than a dish you used in the oven or a frying pan?

The inner bowl just comes out and you wash it like a pan. I just put mine in dishwasher

Isn't an air fryer just a smaller version of a convection oven?!
