Making these potatoes edible

DH bought a bag of wonky veg white potatoes- fine.
Tried them in a casserole - awful, even potato mad DD refused.
Tried as mash - disgusting.

They seemed to be overcooked with hard bits both times.

Shall I chuck or are they good for something!

I know exactly the sort of horrible potatoes that you mean.

Are they the sort that turn to slimey sticky glue when you try to mash them?

Eggzandbacon · 21/01/2018 20:42

Yes!

Are they just for the bin? Will they roast?

Bin😐

treaclesoda · 21/01/2018 20:52

Hmmm, I'm tempted to say bin as well. I remember having ones like that years ago and as you say, they felt hard and not cooked, whilst at the same time tasting overcooked and slimey. They were an abomination.

I don't know if they would roast all that well either. Maybe something like a corned beef hash or something? Most inedible things can be improved on by frying Wink

I may parboil and fry? Seems such a waste. Only I will eat fried potatoes though

Cut into wedges, toss with a bit of oil and seasoning ( cajun, BBQ, whatever you want) and roast in oven. Don't par-boil first, just from raw.
