I like to try something new on Saturday evenings as I have more time. Tonight will be spicy mackerel pasta...found some smoked mackerel in the freezer and googled a recipe, with salad and garlic bread. How about you?

We’re out with friends for a curry. I don’t cook on Saturdays!

Salene · 20/01/2018 07:50

I am making a big steak pie with tatties , veg and gravy

Cook the beef in slow cooker all day so it’s lovely and tender

Yum

DS2 is sitting 11+ this morning so we're going out to celebrate the fact that he no longer needs to do silly amounts of homework!

Bluesheep8 · 20/01/2018 07:59

Oooh salene steak pie sounds lovely! Made to sound even nicer by the use of the word tatties.

I usually like to cook something time consuming or adventurous on a Saturday, but tonight we are going to a friends so no idea what we are having Smile

MumJ21 · 20/01/2018 08:06

Saturday night is fakeaway night in our house so tonight we are having pizzas, eaten healthy all week so deserves a treat!! Enjoy your pasta.

Argeles · 20/01/2018 08:09

Persian Jujeh kebabs, with whole grilled tomatoes and buttery saffron rice. I’ll marinate the chicken pieces for the kebabs after breakfast - it’s a really simple, yet delicious dinner.

Baked sweet potatoes with chicken and bacon mixed with mayo for me, cheesey beeans for DH and salad.
The hot and cold and sweet and savoury mix for me is heaven.

shadesofwinter · 20/01/2018 10:39

@Argeles, would you mind sharing a recipe for your kebabs etc? They sound great!

MumInTheCity · 20/01/2018 10:47

I'm making a lasagne with salad and garlic bread. It's a favourite in this house and we have my mum and my friend joining us for dinner who both like it.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/01/2018 10:48

We're having prawn risitto Smile

JeansAndANiceTop · 20/01/2018 10:50

Baked fish with stir fry

PootlesLovelyHat · 20/01/2018 10:51

Homemade pizza, we've just got into making them and we're loving it. Everyone makes their own so no one can complain if anything's wrong Wink

ItWentInMyEye · 20/01/2018 10:51

Pearl barley risotto with mushrooms & peas probably with a salad. Can't wait as I've made my own vegetable stock -purposefully for this recipe- for the first time ever!

Tatapie · 20/01/2018 10:51

Home made beef burgers, home made chips (in a chip pan )and salad. Delicious!

Bluesheep8 · 20/01/2018 11:06

All your dinners sound lovely! We'll be enjoying ours at the kitchen table with Liza tarbuck on radio 2 and lots of wine. Liza always asks what's for dinner and ti text in but she NEVER reads mine out!

1frenchfoodie · 20/01/2018 13:32

haddock florentine with runner beads and roast carrots.

Taffeta · 20/01/2018 13:43

I’m doing all Indian today

We had pav bhaji in toasted buttery rolls for lunch - was divine and plenty left over

Tonight chicken and coriander samosas and monkfish & mussel curry.

PrettyLittleBrownEyedMe · 20/01/2018 23:46

We had homemade salmon and smoked haddock fishcakes. Every time I make them i remember why I always vow never to make them again - they take forever and use every bloody utensil in my kitchen. But DS2 has failed his driving test and asked me so nicely I was powerless to resist....with tartare sauce, roasted beetroot and feta salad and focaccia.

PrettyLittleBrownEyedMe · 20/01/2018 23:47

Also, taffeta, what's pav bhaji please?
