I fancy spag bol but I haven’t got any tinned tomatoes, will fresh tomatoes be the same? I’ve looked for recipes without tinned but can’t find any

Take the skins off and chop them up it'll be fine.

Fresh. Got some tomato purée too? Chop them up, add purée, garlic, herbs, a bit of veg stock and finely grated celery and you’ve pretty much got the sauce you get in a jar.

I never use tinned tomatoes in Bolognese, only a squidge of purée.

God yeah, fresh will be lovely! I only use tinned because it's convenient.
