Chickens for Sunday lunch have expiry date of Saturday....

Just had some shopping delivered and discovered the above....

Given that if I put the chickens in the freezer I'll have to take them out again on Saturday morning anyway to allow them to defrost - would it be safe to just leave them in the fridge and cook them on Sunday?

(I have already phoned Tescos and complained btw...)

no
freeze them

Yes, freeze them of course.

Bother.

I would have ordered frozen in the first place if I'd known this would happen.

Maybe I'll cook them on Saturday instead. Don't really like the thought od defrosting a whole (large) chicken....
