Having a vegan but eats fish to dinner party in a few weeks and I always prefer to just make something everyone can eat (maybe with optional add ins like garlic yoghurt for the non). Rather than making a separate vegan meal.

What can I do that isn't predictable (mushroom risotto) but also isn't a massive faff (i.e. tapas or fajitas or something).
Also that doesn't have lentils.

God some people are being seriously unhelpful. What about sea bass with baby Herby potatoes and chargrilled veg? Starter could be mix of vegan and non vegan meze things for Pepe to pick at with yogurt dips as a side.

Perhaps not the most seasonal starter for January, but white (or Andalusian) gazpacho is tasty, unusual and dead easy to make. White bread, iced water, almonds, grapes, garlic and a dash of vinegar.

How about summer rolls as a starter before your thai curry - with peanuts, bean sprouts, thinly sliced veg, and dipping sauce? I use a mixture of sweet chili sauce and lime juice for the sauce, delicious!
