Why do GBBO, or indeed I, need a Magimix, Kitchenaid and a hand mixer?

Just that really, hoping to improve my baking tbis year and noticed that everyone seems to have bith a Magimix and a Kitchenaid, plus also a hand mixer. I have dont have the Kitchenaid. What do I need it for?

I discovered the need for a Kitchenaid the other day, making marshmallows - I needed 1 hand to hold the bowl steady, 1 hand to whisk the egg white (with the hand mixer), while I poured the hot syrup onto the whites with the other hand. It did not end well. Oh for a Kitchenaid, although I have no idea where I'd put one.
