My children (now teens) have always loved Home made soup and chunky bread. Favourites have always been:
Leek and potato
Chunky vegetable
Chicken noodle
Minestrone
Parsnip and apple

Soup is one of the only meals we will all definitely eat- thankfully my dc will eat any variety of it, so we have it twice a week.

Lentil and bacon soup
Red lentil and sweet potato soup
Roast tomato soup
Maple roast parsnip soup
Chickpea and red lentil
Leek and potato
Broccoli and Stilton
Celery and Stilton
Chicken soup
Split pea and ham
Pea and mint

Chunky veg and pasta with a tin of tomatoes thrown in. Bit like minestrone.

Broccoli, celery and potato.

Carrot, ginger and lentil.

Make loads both in the soup maker and traditionally ( less so since soup maker )
One of our favourites is roast pepper , chilli and sweet potato

kingjofferyworksintescos · 02/01/2018 11:36

Sorry posted too early ...
Another great one is chilli beef

BertrandRussell · 02/01/2018 11:36

Chicken ramen.

CaptainWarbeck · 02/01/2018 11:41

For toddler:

'Green alien soup' = pea soup
'Pesto soup' = broccoli soup with a tsp of pesto stirred in
'Red soup' = lentil and tomato soup

Creamy pumpkin also goes down well.

snowbellina · 02/01/2018 11:52

Leek & potato

Daisyndaysout · 02/01/2018 12:13

These all sound great. Thanks

Where can I find a decent pumpkin now? They had 100s the week leading up to Halloween and after that I couldn't find a single pumpkin anywhere.

Has anyone tried any mild Tai inspired noodle soups?

The chicken noodle one I mentioned is Thai inspired, this is the recipe I use:

If you can’t get pumpkin, butternut squash is a good alternative

SagelyNodding · 02/01/2018 12:27

Chickpea and tomato soup is a big hit with my DC-so quick and easy! I often do Jamie Oliver style flatbreads for dunking too!

SagelyNodding · 02/01/2018 12:28

Ooh and butternut squash too

meandmytinfoilhat · 02/01/2018 12:43

Potato and leek
Tomato
Chicken and rice
Scotch broth
Carrot and coriander
Veg soup

BeyondThePage · 02/01/2018 12:47

Carrot and red pepper - One onion (softened with oil), one pepper, 1kg carrots, 1 large potato (thickens it), add veg stock cube and water. simmer for 25 min, blitz til smooth.
(mummy's magic soup - before Tesco stole the idea!! - cures all ills!)
