Happy New Year! Plus a shortbread question.....

Planning on making some shortbread, what could be simpler... Only mine are never quite as good as I'd hope.

Today I'm going to try the Mary berry recipe, first time I'll have deviated from plain flour butter and caster sugar.

Only addition is semolina but I don't have that, it does say can be substituted for corn flour. If it calls for 100g semolina will it be 100g corn flour?

Also since its new year if anyone fancies sharing their fail safe recipes for shortbread that would be great

I’ve always used 50/50 flour and cornflour

Yes, also, you can substitute cornflour for polenta weight for weight.
