Hi,
Today i made one black forest cake.I have half tin cherry filling unused. On the cherry tin,it is written to be finished within three days once opened.
Can i keep it for long time by freezing it in a air tight container??Or have to finish within three days only??
Please suggest...

Not sure.. would it go watery when defrosted??

Worth an experiment. I make Rachel Khoo chocolate cherry cookies with tinned cherries, freeze and bake from the freezer without any change in the cherry texture.

Hey that's great..how many days did you keep in the freezer??

Ooh, Black Forest is my favourite!
If you've got any natural yogurt, I'd just mix it in with that and eat it.

I like it on top of porridge... it wouldn't last three days in my house!

I would freeze it as it is, or second thoughts in slightly smaller quantities so that you could use some as a topping for icecream. I would probably try to use it up within a month.

Cherry muffins? filling for a Victoria sponge? Steamed cherry sponge pudding? a banana loaf recipe replacing the banana with cherries ?

I might have to go and buy a cherry filling now.

Hmm, cherries in kirsch.
