Stuck for ideas can’t do curry but happy to try anything else. I’ve also got a new kitchen aid mixer so want to try a desert I can do in that

This cod wrapped in prosciutto is gorgeous. It looks a bit faffy but it’s not if you use tinned beans and prep in advance.

I like stuff that can be made ahead so you can have fun with your guests

I’m a big fan of canapés with aperitifs or fizz rather than starters

How many people is it? Is it NYE or Jan? Any vegetarians?

I like the idea of beef with dauphinois potatoes

I'd avoid starters too, mains I'd go for slow cooked lamb shank, These Jamie Oliver shanks are delicious, make ahead and look quite spectacular. I served them with mash - dauphinoise would be good too.
Puddings I favour something lemony or maybe orange flavoured after a wintery dish, - lemon posset with shortbread, lemon polenta cake, self saucing puddings, lemon curd roulade etc.

You can use your kitchen aid for this baked lemon cheesecake www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9653/luscious-lemon-baked-cheesecake
It's a fail-safe recipe and a light way to finish a big meal.
