Runner beans - freezing

I went a bit mad in M&S yesterday because their beans were reduced from £2.30 to 10p a packet.

There's no way we can eat all these. Can they be frozen and should I prepare them before? Should I blanch them before putting them in the freezer or are they okay to go in raw?

I like a bargain and beans Grin

tehy are fine to be put in raw we usually shave the side stringy bit off and then chop for convenience really.we had loads off our allotment and they filled five shelves almost so ur not alone :) but all we did is strip.chop.bag in food bags and in.sorted.
cook perfectly from frozen.xx

Thank you. I thought you could but I didn't want to end up with bags of defrosted mush. x

I think they're fine cooked from frozen too. But I'd say put them in hard boiling water for not very long, rather then bimbling around in not so hot water for too long, or steaming.

NB steaming obvs fine for non frozen runner beans!
