what are ice blocks?

Do you mean ice lollies?
I make my own with whatever fruit I have around.

Indith · 21/04/2007 13:33

As with fmv I assume you want ice lollies.
Make your own def the best, try mixing fruit in with youghurt and freezing. Nice squishy stuff like raspberries is great, squish them a bit so som juice runs out and marbles the youghurt but leave them pretty much whol. Tasty.

MrsWho · 21/04/2007 13:36

Yeah ice lollies (no one else call them ice blocks? must be a local thing?)

Fruit and yoghurt sound nice, we did have frozen fruit on sticks last year but isn't always counted as pudding!(acccording to dd1!)

you can mix fresh orange juice and fresh apple juice for example, (or any combination of any juice) and just freeze them. there are some great lolly makers called licketysips or summat which don't let the melted juice run everywhere as they have a little straw attatched for kids to suck

my ds will eat almost any fruit mashed into a lolly, ebven if he claims not to like it in it's normal state! Also fab if they are under the weather and don't fancy eating much.

WanderingTrolley · 22/04/2007 13:30

Make smoothies.

Freeze.

Serve to children.

Secretly eat Magnums with head in freezer.

filthymindedvixen · 22/04/2007 13:41

ROFL wanderingtrolley! (I have a secret stash of hideous brightly coloured ice pops which I have a terrible passion for...)

WideWebWitch · 22/04/2007 14:25

If you freeze an Innocent smoothie you can then cut off the top and peel off the first bit of packaging and you've got a lolly.

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:28

Make yer own deffo.
If you put a bit of cordial in first,it comes out of the mould multi coloured.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/04/2007 14:30

Cordial, moondog?

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:31

Nais cordial obviously.

WanderingTrolley · 22/04/2007 14:31

Will a Fruit Shoot work?

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:32

Oh I think people say squash here do they?
Cordial a hangover from youth spent entirely surrounded by Aussies.

Dimpled · 22/04/2007 14:33

fruit juice works fine as does the contents of a can of mandarins.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/04/2007 14:34

SQUASH

Surely you dont, do you Moony?

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:35

I'm very partial to Rose's lime cordial.
That Rock stuff is noce too.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/04/2007 14:35

Apple juice makes the best lollies in the world. Any mix of fruit in a smoothie works fab too.

Also, frozen yoghurt is great. I found a cheap icecream maker was a fab investment. Just mix in cream and pureed fruit/orange juice and it tastes FAB! and children love it, because, well - its ICECREAM!

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 14:44

Rose's lime cordial. Oh I love that stuff.
The lemon and lime marmalade is yummy too.

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:46

yES,DAMNED FIND sTg. i MUST buy some again.
Soda and lime is the best non-alcoholic drink in the world i reckon.

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 14:49

Vodka and lime is a bloody lovely drink too

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:52

I thought so before o d'ing badly on it in Russia.

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 14:57

Ah, would that be the native potato brew?

moondog · 22/04/2007 14:58

No.twas good stuff but well you know...too much of anything is a bad thing.

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 15:00
