So after a roast lunch I will be doing a buffet. What else could I add to this list that doesn’t involve cooking or fuss?

Crackers and cheese, grapes, veg sticks, hummus and dips, bread sticks, smoked salmon, crisps, nuts and olives. Anything else I’m missing?

Tia

Cold cuts from the roast? Pickles & chutneys?

Salads - green, coleslaw, potato etc

llmb · 10/12/2017 16:20

Don’t really want to have to faff with potato... will have a load of veg with the roast (I do at least 3 types plus potatoes) would I still need a salad?

I forgot I had meats, salami, pastrami!

I don’t eat chutney, what sort is good? What do you eat it with, meat?

We will be having roast chicken so won’t have that for the buffet..

Green salad, baguette, dates

Blondie1984 · 10/12/2017 16:42

You have chutney with cheese - something like caramelised red onion would be good

Icantdancedontaskme · 10/12/2017 16:44

I would do blinis and cream cheese mixed with horseradish to go with the salmon. Always a big hit here!

ColinsVeryJolly · 10/12/2017 16:45

Cheese and pineapple on sticks surely?!

OfDragonsDeep · 10/12/2017 16:49

Cheese & pineapple on sticks is what DH would be looking for, it's his measure of a good buffet Grin

llmb · 10/12/2017 16:49

Trouble is can’t have too much dairy as some dairy intolerant.... will have goats cheese for them Grin

Talk to me about blinis.... I thought that was a drink Blush

That chutney sounds good thanks! Didn’t think of dates...

Blinis are little pancakes - you are thinking of Bellini cocktails

Have a look here www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/765634/garden-leaves-with-smoked-salmon-and-cheats-blinis

FYI goat is still dairy - however some people with a dairy intolerance or who struggle with cow's milk are able to manage to goat (or sheep) dairy as it can be easier to digest

llmb · 11/12/2017 16:20

Thanks will look at that link. Yes definitely dairy intolerant not goat. That’s my dad and he can have goats so that’s ok!

I'm not sure pineapple goes very well with goats cheese - maybe cherry tomatoes or dates?

Contactless · 11/12/2017 16:58

I'd put out the fruit bowl and add 2 of pate, pork pies, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages and some good bread

abouttimeforanotherone · 11/12/2017 17:07

Leftover pigs in blankets? Green salad & coleslaw, pickles/chutneys & maybe a pork pie.

Brandnewstart · 11/12/2017 17:11

If you want something green and easy, do pasta and pesto. Chuck in some sweetcorn and you're sorted!

MiniTheMinx · 11/12/2017 17:15

Parma ham, quails eggs

midsomermurderess · 11/12/2017 19:49

What about things like falafel, pakoras, samosas and various dips hummus etc, stuffed vine leaves.

ColinsVeryJolly · 11/12/2017 21:31
