Breadmaker question

hi all
thinking about buying a breadmaker but wondering, if you freeze some of it for convenience, is it then only good for toasting? I generally find frozen bread isn't really great for sandwiches, only toast.

Not sure if fresh bread being frozen will be the same.

Thanks.

You might find a Panasonic on eBay.

Muffin, thanks, that's really good to know.

I hadn't thought about the cleaning of them, is it a pain?

@nyx1 not with a Panasonic! Grin but to be fair, I have only used one other model and can’t remember what it was.

Although, you could trial homemade bread without a bread maker with this really easy no knead recipe dontwastethecrumbs.com/2015/02/no-knead-overnight-artisan-bread/ if you want to test whether you like doing it. Slightly more faff than a bread maker but less faff than doing the knead/Knock back/knead business

Am attempting first loaf of bread
Bread maker has been on for three hours and with half an hour to go, I found no it hard to believe that's what in there is going to be a loaf of bread...
I knew I could bugger this up. Sad

It'll be fine!!!

Surely it's done now? How's it looking? 😁

Nyx1 · 15/12/2017 14:39

It's definitely underdone and I would say not well mixed but I have no experience

I did hear the paddle churning away for ages
Wish the booklet had more instructions

Now trying to save it via the oven....can't bear waste....

Wonder what I did wrong. Followed the recipe in the book to the letter.

If all the ingredients are in date then it's the machine not you.

Nyx1 · 17/12/2017 10:26

thanks Fluffy
I did wonder that

it also said that there should be an escape of steam when opening the lid - there wasn't one

I'm going to give it another try and if it doesn't work I am going to report it as faulty. The ingredients were bought after the breadmaker.
