For the days I have energy and inspiration to cook I would like to take full advantage and mass cook stuff so that I can fully stock up my chest freezer with home cooked food. My DH has a parylised arm so is unable to prepare food. Therefore, I want to make sure that when I've had this baby there is stuff he can just whip out, defrost and stick in the oven.

OK, so far the ideas I have are:

Shepherds Pie
Bolognese (would make pasta fresh on day)
Lasagne

That's where my ideas run out......

Seems to! I usually have one portion left over after making it for dinner and it seems OK to me.

Soup? Bacon and Lentil/ Spinach/ Tomato all really good to just whip out and cook and will help keep you nice and regular after the birth esp. important if you have stitches or anything!

sorry that should say ´reheat´ not ´cook´

Meatloaf
Pies (meat and potato, chicken and leek etc)
Quiches
Chilli
Other pasta sauces (eg I make one similar to bolognese but use bacon instead of mince)

homemade fishfingers - dip boned and skinned fillets of white fish in egg and whatever you like - crushed cornflakes or sesame seeds- then freeze big batches and fry/bake when needed - requests for 20 fillets of sole can raise a few eyebrows at the fishmongers.
we love this stew - 2 tins kidney beans, 2 tins tomatoes, fried onion and garlic, aubergine in chunks, mixed herbs and if like meat chunks of salami/chorizo, all stewed with water added if necessary. serve with crusty bread. love not having to salt dry aubergine!
