Hello Fresh Gousto?

Has anyone tried any of the above and if you have tried both which do you prefer and why please? We tried Hello Fresh for two weeks with a really good offer but cancelled it after two weeks as the normal price is expensive. Do they ever do offers for returning customers or is it just new customers? Thanks

We have been doing Hello Fresh for about 3 months. We take weeks out when we are all busy, we order enough for 2 but there are 3 of us. There is often enough for lunch the next day when we have the box for 4. I don't think it's expensive when you look at reduced food waste or trips to supermarket for inspiration!!

We've had a gousto box most weeks for the last 6 months. Totally love the food and it's transformed the amount of food we waste. Know I'm eating much better than I was (though dh has a decent works canteen so it's not as important to him). Get days where I think I really can't be bothered to cook, but actually it is worth the bother. First time I've ever not had to do the work re finding / thinking up the recipe and picking up the right ingredients. That's most of the work tbh. And there's always enough food for the two of us.

Thanks do you know if they do any offers for returning customers?

In my experience none of them do offers for returning customers. I have had three Gousto boxes since my Mumsnet product trial. I really like them.

Only tried the Gousto one but we really like it. Tonight was Lamb burgers with minty mayo. Everyone enjoyed it, even the fussy little one.

That’s good to know. I’ll try that one next then.

Would you like me to pm you a code or do you already have one? 🙂

Does anyone think these type of meals would be suitable for a mum and a toddler? I love cooking and for sure I would partake in this sort of stuff if I had a oartner. But the 2 of us? What does everyone think?

RefuseTheLies · 02/12/2017 02:49

We use hello fresh and have done for a long time now. A box for two people usually does two adult portions and a toddler portion in our house.

DD has moved back home and she buys us a couple of meals a week. Out of the 2 I prefer Gousto. Had Chicken Biryani kebabs with brown rice last night and they were very tasty.

The Hello Fresh we had recently had lots of ready made pastes and they were way too salty for me and the mince was higher content fat than I would normally buy at the supermarket. Sausages last week were nice though.

PrincessoftheSea · 02/12/2017 04:50

We alternate between Hello Fresh and Gousto. Love it and really helped as felt stuck in a rut foodwise. We also reuse their recipes.

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 02/12/2017 04:54

pass I’m not sure. The Gousto recipes suggest a lot of salt, much more than we would add to a regular family meal and sone can be quite spicy. Is your toddler ok with spicy food? Perhaps though, that’s just the recipes I choose. There could well be loads of non-spicy recipes to choose from 🙂

Gousto has a partnership with Annabel Karmel for some healthier and child-friendly meals.

I’ve tried both and much preferred Gousto - the ordering process, the website and most importantly the meals. They have more complex (without needing too much prep from me) flavours, so I really feel I’m making something a bit special. Also a wider range of meals, with something a bit different/exotic each week.

I have a voucher/ referral code for them if someone wants it.

And OP, yes, I got a call from them after not ordering a third box for a while, offering me £10 off that box.

PrincessoftheSea · 02/12/2017 05:26

You only add salt if you want to. We don't even have salt in the house

Brighteyes27 · 02/12/2017 19:50

Yes on me a Gusto code please. If anyone wants a hello fresh code for £20 off a box let me know.
I think the hello fresh ones we have tried might be too much for your toddler.

Are they good for losing weight?

CardiffSpecialSundae · 02/12/2017 20:29

If anyone wants my Gousto code I wouldn't mind a HelloFresh code?

srforster19 · 28/02/2019 13:41

I have a Gousto code for 60% your first box and 30% off all boxes in your first month.

My code is: SARA18037672
