Looking for advice on large sweet potatoes!

Hello Smile

I love a baked sweet potato, but usually they are longer than they are deep, and cook pretty well. Today, lidl only had huge ball shaped ones, and I'm a little intimidated!

(Photo attached, hand and modestly sized banana for scale ...)

They are just really wide and i think they'll take hours to cook ... does anyone have any experience with these beasts? How long in the oven, foil/no foil, etc etc?

I don't have a microwave so can't blast them in there first unfortunately.

Any support on this challenge would be much appreciated! Grin With any luck I'll have it sorted by dinner time.

I regularly cut mine up into various shapes and roast them...I toss the chunks or slices in olive oil and salt and sometimes in rosemary and garlic too.

Then roast. They're gorgeous like that.

If you have a metal skewer, put it through the potato as that will help to conduct heat to the centre. You probably know this but the juices tend to caramelise so I would probably wrap them in foil too.

Thanks both! Going to try cutting into halves and see how it goes ...
