Kitchenaid owners, advice please!

I’m the proud owner of a shiny new kitchenaid which will be put into service tomorrow. Is it worth buying a kitchenaid recipe book? I have a feeling it might be a waste of money, surely I can just make the hundreds of recipes I already have with it?

I got a kitchenaid cookbook free with mine, wouldn't have paid for it. I think I've used it once in 2 years, it's not very good!

I’ve got one (kitchen aid) and would never buy the specific recipe book. Seems like a waste and a bit unnecessary

Thank you, I had a feeling that might be the case! Just wanted to make sure I’m not going to miss out!

I wouldn’t bother with the cookbook but can recommend the kitchenaid spatulas!

I had a free one, it was rubbish. My baking bibles are Domestic Goddess by Nigella Lawson, a very old baking book by Mary Berry and I've made some fab cakes using Ruth's recipes off The Pink Whisk website.....(she was on Bake off). She uses a lot of Stork margarine that I hate using so I always swap for butter, but her raspberry ripple cake is amazing. I've had my KitchenAid for about 12 years and still love using it....it's a beast Grin.

Don't get the book, waste as previously said.
Maybe think about attachments? I got the ice cream bowl (second hand). Makes lovely ice cream, and I know what's in it, can add extras and it does taste lovely.
I know others have the sausage maker attachment, and rave about that, others have the mincer, all depends on your preferences.
It's a fab machine overall.

i got a KA recipe book with mine as a promo...so so glad I did not pay for it!

It's all about the attachments, so trying to entice you to spend more!

I did make one thing which was a cinnamon bread plait...they were very nice! And they had an amusing name... winkel or wankel somethings. Oh how we laughed. Hmm

Yes I agree with above
Nigella Lawson How to be a domestic goddess is brilliant
I’ve also just bought Sweet , by Yotom Ottolenghi which I love
< almost as much as I love my Kitchenaid >

DramaAlpaca · 25/11/2017 21:04

I got a recipe book with my KitchenAid and have never used it.

Ooh spatulas you say? I’m not going down the road of attachments yet, I’m waiting for DP to recover from the cost of the mixer before I buy anything else Grin
