Would it be awful to use frozen veg for the children instead of fresh?

The fresh veg out here is hit and miss. Just been to the NAAFI and it's pretty dire today. Would frozen veg on a more regular basis be a reasonable option?

Def better than rotten quality veg.At least they'll be getting some goodness

Yes frozen veg can actually work out having more vitamins etc as fresh veg sitting in a fridge is constantly loosing them.

McDreamy · 14/04/2007 15:04

Well that's what I thought.

I regularly use frozen peas and sweetcorn, though choose not to use anything else as find they can taste quite mushy, esp broccoli and green beans. I think that frozen tasty veg is better than fresh skanky veg.

I think they can sometimes be better than "fresh", IIRC they do retain a lot of the nutrients.

A lot of the cheffy types on telly use frozen peas. I bought frozen beans once and they were terrible but in general I think they're not a poor substiture.

I always use frozen veg as the accompanying veg, IYSWIM

and I am a cheffy type
