ooo yum!

idea number one - fry loads of onions really gently until melting in lots of olive oil and some garlic if you like. Bung the tuna in on top and saute the whole lot with the lid on for about half an hour. Can add a bit of tomato puree to this sauce.

idea number two - marinate them in half balsamic vinegar/half soy sauce (about 3 or 4 table spoons of each) and a pinch of ginger for 15 mins. Then fry the steaks in a little olive oil and add the vinegar soy sauce mixture at the end of cooking.

I have to admit I have never done this until recently until we were staying at a friends house and everything that she cooked DD3 turned her nose up(up until then I didnt think DD3 was that fussy!!) It was salmon-Barbie at the time was her fav so I told her it was pink fish- you know the one that Barbie eats! Its her fav now, if you can convince them something like that, Im all in agreement, although I have never had tuna steaks before so dont know how to make them child friendly!

when in doubt i cover it with seeds! i have coated chunks of salmon, cod, pork and chicken in flour, egg and sesame seeds and fried in veg or sesame oil. serve with noodles or rice, stir fry strips of veg and i have chilli dipping sauce and they have tomato sauce[!]
