What to use instead of eggs?

My little boy is off nursery feeling very poorly with a cough and cold he's got the most miserable face and I was just going to bake him a yummy cake to cheer him up since nothing is really working and cake is just about his most favourite thing. We've got some of them packet mixes in where you add like water and an egg and voila you've got a lovely cake but we have no bloody eggs in :/ what could I use instead?

Prayer?

A mashed banana or puréed apple. Bicarbonate of soda and water. All good egg substitutes

Apple cider vinegar (sounds odd but works, just a tablespoon or so).

Have you got flaxseed or chia seeds? They make an egg substitute when mixed with water

Seconding chia or flax seeds.

One tablespoon chia, three tablespoons water. Let it sit for 10 minutes. There's your "egg"! Not sure about the flax ratios but you can look online.

do you have a tin of chickpeas lying around? Use the liquid (aquafaba), 3 tablespoons per "egg", whisk it up until it looks like egg whites and use as normal

there's loads of info about using cans of fizz for cake mixes so have a google for that

otherwise mayonnaise might work...I have a chocolate mayo cake recipe which is amazing

vegan cakes often just have oil and water in so again have a google and see.
