I know this must have been done a billion times but DD1 (aged 8) is in charge of this years Christmas cake. I haven't done a good old fashioned Christmas cake for a few years now as those who liked it have either passed away, are diabetic or we won't be seeing them.
I am therefore thrilled that she wants to have a go and bring back the tradition. However, my sherry and brandy soaked version is possibly not appropriate. She wants to get her fruit soaking in half term so we need to decide - any help v gratefully received.
