I bought some tinned fresh figs in syrup today (wooed by the packaging).

What'd you do with them? First thought is have them in yogurt for pud/breakfast.

I immediately thought of frangipane tart. www.ricardocuisine.com/en/recipes/3098-fig-frangipane-tart looks delicious.

Eat them with marscapone cheese - so similar to your breakfast plan.

mascarpone, even

They are lovely with proper, thick Greek yoghurt and a drizzle of honey, plus toasted pine nuts.

Or, make a syrup soaked citrussy cake and serve with the figs and yoghurt as above.

Lovely ideas - although I really enjoy actually eating yoghurt with 'something' I can never get excited about the idea of it... whereas I can totally get excited about the idea of a frangipane tart or a citrussy cake.

Thanks!

Somebody on Masterchef made a fig clafoutis. It looked wonderful, and John loved it....
