My late grandma had cool hands (she was a physio) and made fantastic. My father really liked her apple pies. It's his birthday soon so I'd like to make an apple pie so i need a recipe, including pastry. Grandma's pastry wasn't flakey, it went a golden brown (I presume she egg washed it) and her pies always had pastry top and bottom so when cold you could eat a slice without a plate (if you get what I mean)
