Deveining prawns

Was surprised today when I bought a bag of frozen uncooked prawns from the supermarket, and no mention in the cooking instructions about having to devein them. Don't people do that any more? Black veins could be seen, but I cooked and ate them anyway Confused

I don't devein my prawns, it's a lengthy process and I am too lazy Grin

In Spain they never devein them. It’s personal choice I think.

But, personally I can’t eat them with the vein on. It makes me too squeamish to think about Blush

Don't know why it's called deveining - it's the prawn's intestines, not their veins GrinEnvy
