Undercooked fruit cake??!

I baked a fruit cake today (for a special occasion) and took it out of the oven a bit early because a skewer came out clean. I let it cool in the tin but when I turned it out later it looked dark in patches underneath and I suspect it's undercooked.

Is there anything I can do now it's cooled to check/remedy?

I baked a fruit cake and took it out of the oven to cool, after doing the clean skewer test. After a while I took off the brown paper I'd wrapped it in, removed the tin and put it on a rack to cool. Ten minutes later the middle had dropped out!! Any ideas about how I could rescue it? The ingredients were quite expensive.....

Not much you can do with it now in either case, if it is a round cake then cut the middle out making it into a ring cake, not sure what it's for but I deliberately bake ring cakes to decorate as Christmas wreath cake.

Alternative is keep undercooked cake, freeze it and treat as Christmas pudding when thawed, steam it and serve with lots of brandy custard!
