How do I make the perfect pot of tea?

Our tea bags have run out so using up our loose tea. What are your tips for making the perfect pot of tea? Thanks.

Warm pot, pour water out. Boil kettle. Wait for 40 seconds after it's boiled to pour the water on top of the leaves so the leaves aren't scalded.

Wait 5 minutes. Use a tea strainer. I'm a milk in after because I like the tiniest splash.

And I think tea tastes better in a porcelain mug or cup rather than china if I'm being mega fussy.
