Absolutely banging gingerbread recipe anyone?

Does anyone have one? The more luxurious the better as I want to make it as gifts.

Nigellas gingerbread is lovely.
I add extra ginger in the form of candied or the stuff in syrup. I also lob in a dash of the syrup.
I get high praise for this.

Just occurred to me that you might be thinking of the kind you make gingerbread men/ women with! I don't know a good recipie for that. Sorry.

Gingerbread men or soft sliceable gingerbread (cake type)? The gingerbread men recipe in Delia Smith's Book of Cakes is great.
