I'm trying to think of things I can put in pasties and freeze ahead for dd's lunchbox.

So far I've got

chicken, bacon and leek
lamb and sweet potato
cauliflower cheese and bacon
chicken and stuffing
pork and apple
baked beans and cheese

as you can see, it doesn't need to be a traditional recipe!

This sounds a good idea, how do you make them? What sort of pastry? Do you freeze cooked or raw? How/when do you redhead/defrost?

Just to add, spinach and ricotta with a bit of basil and black pepper.

Walnuts, blue cheese and pears.
Tuna, red peppers, onions and paprika.
Beef, potato and swede ( the classic!).
Red kidney beans, chilli, peppers and sweetcorn.
Prawns in garlic sauce.
Chicken and mushrooms.

Sausage meat and pickle
Sausage and egg (my nan used to make this as a pie, no reason it wouldn't work as a pasty)
Crab and chilli
Spinach and paneer curry
Roasted root veg with a mustardy sauce
Garlic/cheesy mushrooms

Chicken fajitas filling

Are these being eaten cold or can your DD heat them up? Some of my suggestions might be nicer hot...

Pizza - cheese, tomato, oregano, peppers and garlic, maybe some pepperoni.
Lentil and mushroom stew
Spinach and feta
Ham chunks in a cheesy sauce
Macaroni cheese (yes, carb overload - maybe for a PE day!)
Scotch egg - hardboiled egg and cooked sausagemeat
BBQ chicken

To be honest I'd prefer all of these hot, myself.

This looks good - www.tinnedtomatoes.com/2017/10/veggie-haggis-apple-bedfordshire-clanger-recipe.html
Not made it myself but I plan to!
