Anyone been to Momma Cherri's Soul Food Shack?

It's just been on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares for about the 5th time and every time I see it I think I must go!!

Bet you'd be disappointed. We were. Offputtingly large portions of mediocre and sometimes surprisingly bland food. Expected the fried chicken to be the best ever and it was actually quite unpleasant. This was after Gordons second visit too. Sorry. I really wanted it to be great too.

Just come to me. The portions will be huge/or not and the food will be fab! Plus ldc for dessert... what more could you want!

Oh is this the one in Brighton?
I watched it the first time it was aired and a month later we went to Brighton . I tried to drag dh in but he was having none of it
I think he muttered something about not going in the same places "as that foul mouthed turd" or something.

I loved it! And my husband liked the food a lot and he is a real 'only eats english food' kind of (boring) food person.

(Plus Momma Cherri was my after school drama teacher in her pre restaurant life and she is fab)

I also really liked the fact that you have small portions of a lot of different foods, and I found out what succotash is.

Dp went for a work do and said the food was rubbish Like a really bad kfc style take away

It will be done in typical caribbean style.

You turn up for your table, I serve what I've cooked!

It could be curry goat (not goat curry people!), jerk chicken, red bean soup, snapper.... whatever it is that I cook that day.

So.... please book you table in advance.

NB: Chez Mars will be closed from 27th April until the 7th May
