I have a cake off at work on Monday for charity and remember, once, having time to melt honey, marshmallow, chocolate bars etc and then refrigerate and cut into squares.

Can I have your recipes please?

I don't have a recipe per se but if you want to do this sort of refrigerator cake then this is what I would do. Get out the dish you want to put the ' bake' into and fill it 3/4 full of rice crispies. Then I would put about 25g of butter in a pan, plus some golden syrup and or honey and melt it. Stir this into your krispies. Is there enough syrup mixture to bind it together? Or do you need more. If you need more then melt some more butter and syrup. You can melt the marshmallows into it but I think mini marshmallows mixed through looks and tastes better, you can melt some mars bars with the butter / syrup and stir that through it, chocolate can either be melted or added as chips or melted and drizzled on as a topping. You can add smarties to the top to give it colour if you want. I like nuts in too but you have to be careful nowadays. This sort of cake is not like baking where everything has to be prescise so you can sing this quite easily. You just need to make sure there enough sweet ' blue' to hold the cereal together. Hope it goes well!

Half a cm of butter off the block into a pan. Chop up 6 mars bars. Melt slowly over a low heat, stirinv frequently.
Take off heat, and stir in rice krispies. Amount by eye, sorry.
Tip into a square 8x8inch tin, press to corners and leave aside.
Melt 150g of milk chocolate. Spread over krispies. When half set, Mark into squares. Cut fully when set with a big sharp knife.

Cracklepops biscuits, recipe from a Rice krispies pack several decades ago. It's super-quick and absolutely delicious.

The recipe states equal quantities of butter, toffees and marshmallows melted together, then the same weight of Rice krispies stirred in. Tip the whole lot into a large, lined baking tray and cool before cutting into squares. It cools in no time in the fridge.

However, I usually use a bit less butter and more Rice Krispies.
I find that a mix of 200g each of toffees and marshmallows, 180g butter and 240g Rice Krispies works really well.

Everyone raves about them. Smile
