Ok I've got a hunk of steak. What do I make?

Nice bit of rump for DS.

Being veggie myself I haven't tasted steak since 1986 and am wondering if I am doing it justice by just whacking it on the griddle. It all seems very pink these days on to cooking shows.

Take it out the fridge to bring the temp up a bit. Do you know how he likes it? Oil the meat not the pan. Put in hot pan. Rest for at least 5 mins, longer if cooked medium/well.

He's not fussy as long as it's not bleeding! I've just had a poke and it's as soft as butter (thank you Sainsbury's).
