Cut up chicken thigh into small bite size pieces.

Fry chicken, add teaspoon of flour.

Add teaspoon turmeric, 1 or 2 heaped tablespoons of mild curry powder.

Add half a chicken stock cube and a cup full of so of water.

Finish with yoghurt or coconut cream.

Not a recipe but I recall loving the Homepride chicken curry sauce (the one in a tin) as a child (in the 70's) a friend's mum used to make it for us and at the time it seemed to be SO exotic and sophisticated and grown up...happy days!.DH still loves it now (guilty pleasure)Blush

Soften an onion add chopped garlic 3-5 cloves, add chicken thighs( skinless) ... boneless easier ( approx 3/person) lots and lots of ground black pepper , half a teaspoon or so ( to taste) chilli powder or cayenne orchilli flakes, 1-2 tablespoons paprika... mix in sizzle for a bit cover with yoghourt( Greek best ..,,any 300 ml but depends on saucepan .... pinch salt if you use and chicken stock cube if you wish.,,, not essential....when simmering cover tightly with foil and a lid and leave to simmer gently for 2 hours or as long as you need
It's very adaptable and easy and no expensive ingredients. Nothing is set in stone eg last night we had this with almost no paprika ( ran out) it was still delicious.
It is based on madhur Jaffray recipient
