Giant Cupcake Moulds - Cake Smash

Hi everyone,

We have booked a cake smash for my LO first birthday. We booked the package that doesn't include a cake as I wanted to have a go at it myself (and I wanted a traditional giant cupcake whereas the package included a chocolate one). I had a practice run with a Pyrex dish and a cake base. The size was big! It was a good size however decorating it was a nightmare.

I have seen the giant cupcake moulds and wondered if they are good and easy to use and decorate once baked?

Are they a good size too? From the pictures of cash smashes I've seen the cakes look a good size in front of baby but these moulds don't seem big enough.

Thanks

I borrowed one from a friend and used it twice. I bake a lot, but found the giant cupcake mould difficult to use and ice. It looked a bit rubbish. Sure it would be good enough for a child's birthday though!. I'm not sure I'd buy a mould for one use only.
