What do you do with oil left in jars?

I mean the sun dried tomatoes type things in oil. I try to use some in my cooking but never manage to use it all, then never know what to do with it so that i can recycle the jar! Pour it into the bin? Down the sink? Soaked up with kitchen roll?
Where oh where should it go?!
Or is it just me....?!

Pour it down the sink.

Try and use it in cottage pie, lasagne, whatever needs tomatoes ..

If I don't use it I usually leave it in the jar and throw it in the bin I don't know if I'm doing it wrong
The sundried tomato oil is great for crusty bread and soft cheese(camembert, brie) though.

Please don't pour it down the sink.

You could:

• put it in your foodwaste if you have it collected
• pour it in an old milk carton and when it's full take it to the tip
• use it to help light a barbecue and then use it to baste the food
• soak it up with newspaper/kitchen towel and put it in the general waste bin

I use it to make salad dressing, as a base for pasta sauce or I fry thinly sliced potato or cubed potatoes in it to serve with cold leftover roast meat

Leave it in the jar and bin the lot. Also

Use it for cooking e.g. Stir fry. It should have a nice tomato flavour.

I leave the jar right next to the cooker so next time I'm frying something, I see the jar and use it. You run the risk of blocked drains if you chuck it down the sink and that could be expensive to sort out.

Freeze in an ice cube tray and use for cooking?

Use it for cooking. It's great if you make your own bread - drizzle it on focaccia. Or in salad dressings.
