Sugar Flowers

Hi fellow bakers
I am about to attempt sugar flowers (with florist/modelling paste) for the first time. How long do they need to dry?

I've made them and left them to dry for a couple of hours then stored them in an airtight container, on a bed of kitchen roll.
If stored properly,they can last for quite a while.
