Is my Crock Pot a crock of shit?

Not had it long but if I do eg sausage casserole and leave it on low for 7 hours while at work, I come back to it overcooked and burnt round the edges. It seems that low is too high! Is this common or is it just a rubbish Crock Pot?

Are you definitely using the right setting? It can be unclear.

Also you may need a little more liquid than you think. It needs to be half full as well, if there isn't enough in it the food scorches.

I'm setting it low definitely. I think it is that it's not full enough-thanks. I just googled and someone said if not enough food put it in an oven proof dish inside crock pot. I'll try that next time. And give the kids the less burnt sausages tonight while I have something else!

It takes a bit of getting used to, but I use mine loads now.

Ha ha OP your post title made me laugh :) I really want a Crock Pot.

Thanks!
If you get one just make sure you fill it properly unlike me!
I have had some successes though- gammon joint in coke was great!

If you have a freezer, always make double and freeze half for another meal, will save you time and resolve the too little in crock pot issue

Ditch it and buy an Instant Pot!
