What would you make out the following list of food?

We have a cupboard and freezer full of food that we're trying to run down, plus have a lot of expenses in the next few weeks. So, can you help me come up with a list of meals I could make out of the following?

We love all kinds of food, but DP absolutely hates mushrooms. We'd hoping to spend no more than £30 for the next 2 weeks for milk, bread, fruit, etc.

In the freezer:

2 salmon fillets
2 tuna steaks
1 haddock fillet
lemon and parsley mackerel
marinated prawns

bacon
a pile of sausages in different bags
chicken mince
2 chicken legs
4 chicken breasts
beef chunks

sweetcorn
peas
chips

2 puff pastry blocks
feta and tomato quiche
2 ciabatta

In the cupboard:
Fuck ton of pasta!
Dried noodles
Rice
Korma paste
Black olive tapenade
Stir-fry sauces
Coconut, lime, chilli rice
Fajita kit
Tinned tuna
Beans
Tomatoes

And then all the various herbs and spices, flours, etc.

Thank you!

How many people are you cooking for?

BrieAndChilli · 13/08/2017 19:31

Tuna pasta bake with the tinned tuna
Tuna stir fry with the tuna steak
Fish pie with various bits of fish
Toad in the hole
Sausage pasta bake (cut up sausages so don't need as many per person)
Chicken korma
Beef stew
Carbonara

Lemon and parsley fish cakes with peas and carrots.
Italian chicken pasta - tomato sauce, tapenade and pasta
Toad in hole with baked beans
Beef curry and rice
Stir fry with prawns
Chicken pasties with the chicken mince, onion, sweet corn and carrots.
Fish pie
Macaroni cheese

Home made haddock goujons, peas and chips
Toad in the hole
Thai chicken or beef curry
Beef or chicken korma
Tomato and bacon pasta
Chicken or fish pie
Toasted ciabatta rounds with olive tapenade or toasted ciabatta with marinated prawns for starters
Prawn rice pilaf
Tuna bake
Chicken noodle soup

Salade Nicoise with the fresh tuna steaks
Salmon coated in grain mustard and honey with the salmon steaks
Chicken fajitas using 2 chicken breasts and the fajuta kit
Spicy chicken rolls using the minced chicken and puff pastry (Think seasoned sausage roll type things)
Singapore noodles with the noodles and marinated prawns
Assuming you have, or can get, potatoes, make fishcakes with the haddock, serve with beans
Use the bacon and pasta (plus eggs, cream and some cheese) to make pasta carbonara
Make a biryani or similar with the chicken legs and rice
Cut the ciabatta in half horizontally, and use as pizza bases - use cheese leftover from the carbonara, tapenade and invest in a tube of tomato puree :)
Use the beef chunks to make a pie filling for the rest of the puff pastry
If you have flour, eggs and milk, make toad in the hole with the sausages, served with onion gravy
I'd make a paté with the mackerel and a tub of cream cheese, but you might not want to buy any, of course
Sweetcorn fritters are lovely!

HTH!

Stir fries, with grilled meat.
You really don't have enough veg, though.

I'd reach for the item(s) with the oldest use-by date & work with whatever combos they made.

Oh wow thank you for the quick replies. At a glance, Some of these look lovely!
Haha brownsauce, didn't think of that. Just me and DP, DS has only just started solids this weekend Grin

Well I guess if you are making veg purees for your ds, then you can add some fresh veg to the rest op! Sounds like you have a busy couple of weeks cooking coming up. Think you have loads for two adults though. Good luck with it!

Is this for lunches and evening meals?
Evening meals well covered above
Lunches
Tuna pasta salad
Beans on toast
Bacon sandwich
Puff pastry slices

I'd buy eggs, cheese, veg, salad to give you lots more options

Sausage squeezed out of skin, mix with chicken mince and make meatballs, serve with some of your pasta.
I would poach the chicken legs and use the meat with either leek/ sweet corn and white sauce to make filling for chicken pies- use your puff pastry for lids.
