Sri Lankan Curry Powder

We had a Hello Fresh trial this week, and one of the recipes was delicious - a Sri Lankan fish curry. One of the ingredients was Sri Lankan Curry powder, which I just can't find in the shops, and I'd like to make the recipe again.

I asked the company where to get it, and they pointed me towards their supplier, but it's about £3.50 for the spice (fine) and about another £3.95 for postage.

Are there any Sri Lankan cooks around who can advise if mild curry powder, or anything else sold commercially and easily available would do the job? (I don't want to be faffing around mixing nineteen different spices ideally!)

There's a couple of recipes for Sri Lankan curry power in rick steins far eastern odyssey book- I suspect it does have quite a few different spices in it though! I made it years ago so can't quite remember

we make up a batch of the rick stein one from the far eastern odyssey book and just keep in the rest in a jar for next time. mild curry powder is really not the same.

There are a few online grocers that do curry powder. EBay has some but a shop i use is subastore.co.uk . You'll find curry powders here: subastore.co.uk/collections/spices/curry_powders I cook sri lankan food all the time and am a big fan of the "freelan" and "wijaya" brands. But they also have all in one kits that make cooking curries a doddle.
