My lovely DH bought me a kenwood chef about four years ago, I don't really use it much but would love to. Can someone give me some basic hints and tips of really where to start with it? Happy to buy new attachments if necessary :) it's a lovely bit of kit, would just like to feel I was getting the most of of it!

Start with a pavlova. So easy to beat the egg whites up. And there is loads of lovely soft fruit around around at the moment to put on top.

I don't use mine as much as I used to, as I don't bake so much any more for weight reasons Blush but I used to find it so useful for really creaming butter and sugar together to make cakes. It could do that for ages while I got on with other stuff.

What do you like to make?

I love chocolate things and am 21 weeks pregnant so deffo any healthy things I can do for my diet are a bonus!

It makes making pastry very easy.

Bread. I bought a dough hook and make bread in it.
All I then need to do it let is rise, both in the bowl and in the loaf tin, then bake it. Mmm.

Agree pastry, whisking eggs (Jamie's chocolate mousse when you have popped) and cakes. Make two and freeze one.

I use mine nearly every day for
Sponge cakes
Cupcakes
Buttercream
Shortbread
Pastry for apple pie
Carrot cake
Banana bread
Meringue
Whipping cream
Cheesecakes

I have the jug for the top too so I use that to crush biscuits or blitz sugar

It's great for making bread and pizza dough too.

I'm a baker so I use it for work a lot - couldn't live without it!
