Baking with kids

I'd like some ideas of what I could bake with my children during the holidays. I'm not a natural in the kitchen so it needs to be really simple but fun for the children.

Does anyone have any ideas of what we could make? Tried and trusted recipes would be great too! Thank yo

Easy stuff like top hats? Marshmallows, melted chocolate and smarties.
Crispy cakes?
Fairy cakes?
Pancakes?
Depends on age of the children but really anything

How old are your kids? I tried this today - not an amazing recipe but simple and tastes fine (it's from a Peppa Pig magazine)

100g butter
75g caster sugar
1 egg
200g flour (add more flour if the dough is too sticky)

Beat butter and sugar
Add beaten egg
Add flour to form a dough

Roll to 5mm (put a bit of flour on the surface)

You can cut any shape but the Peppa magazine had the idea for balloons which you decorate with writing icing and strawberry laces (for the string) which is quite fun for kids

Bake for 8-10 mins at 170C

Other ideas are brownies and pizza dough - simple and yummy
