bad bedtime if children have junk food

If you give your child junk food before bedtime does it make them restless and make them not wont to go to bed.

not sure about junk food, as my dd doesn't get much, but if she has something sugary (such as Ambrosia custard which she loves ) for pudding then , yes she is much harder to settle.

BTW, I'm not counting fish fingers as junk food, or M+S ravioli, which dd loves- some might disagree with me on those!

high sugar foods or foods with a lot of aditives can cause hyperness in children so yes it would afect bed time

I'd agree totally! Made the mistake of giving the kids an ice pop each after dinner and while the older 2 were ok, DS2 had a hyper 15 minutes!! Won't make that mistake again

my sister in law gave my ds some choc bottons while i was out of the room at half nine at night last night and even though he went down like a dream he was waking every 2 hours all night and acting like he was on a sugar rush sorry thought it would be best to warn you
