I have some frozen prawns in the freezer but can't think what to do with them. Any ideas what I do with them for tea tonight please? Preferably using store cupboard ingredients. Thanks.

Prawn curry? Have you got curry powder or sauce slice some onions to go with it, pan fry altogether. Add potatoes cut into cubes. Yummy!

Ignore the twatty looking woman, her face annoys me, but the recipe for prawn curry is lush!

TheseAreTheGoodOldDays · 11/07/2017 17:44

Pasta sauce, make a tomato sauce and add the prawns at the end, prawn curry, garland chilli prawns, fry some crushed garlic and whole chilli's, slit them if you like it hot, in olive oil add prawns and serve with salad

Make a chilli paste with onions, garlic, chilli fllakes, tomatoes (tinned, fresh, any you have), stir fry prawns in some butter, mix tomatoe mixture in, then add cooked spaghetti (could be any pasta really). Voila!

AdaColeman · 11/07/2017 17:50

Provencal prawns, rich garlic and tomato sauce home made or bought, cook the prawns in the sauce when the sauce is almost ready. serve with herby rice.

My quickest, laziest dinner for the DCs is pour boiling hot water over cous cous & cover, and pour hot water over small bowl of frozen cooked prawns.
Open tin of sweetcorn, when the cous cous has soaked up the water drain the prawns and mix it all together.
Drizzle with sweet chilli sauce and serve.
Ready in under 5 minutes.
They like it Confused
OP I'd go for stir fry
well actually I'd have a veg stir fry because I hate prawns but everyone else here loves the

LoveCakesandWine · 11/07/2017 17:56

Curry, risotto or pasta all work well with prawns

I must be such a philistine, I'm amazed at what some people have as 'store cupboard' ingredients.

gemsandstones · 11/07/2017 18:22

Why is having tinned tomatoes, onions, garlic, curry powder, oil, pasta in the cupboard amazing? Confused

chicaguapa · 11/07/2017 19:14

Thanks all. I was inspired by some of your recipes and found this one by Jamie Oliver so we had that. Smile

Looks nice op! If you ever do prawns again and want something quick i do prawn and halloumi on skewers, so quick and easy!

IHopeYourCakeIsShit · 11/07/2017 20:57

gems
It was more the pad thai recipe
I didn't want to be specific, but if you're picking me up on it....

buggerthebotox · 11/07/2017 21:03

My Pad Thai is hardly a recipe-more like chucking a couple items plus noodles in a pan et voilà.....

Smile.

IHopeYourCakeIsShit · 11/07/2017 21:14

Ah that sounds more my thing,
I was worried I was an incompetent mumsnetter because I didn't have tamarind and dried shrimp or some such thing in my cupboards. Grin

gemsandstones · 11/07/2017 21:34

IHope - So long as you have Quinoa..! Wink
