Selling home bakes

Just wondered if anyone has tried approaching shops, small or large about taking on some of their own baking. I bake lots more than before, including bread, cakes, shortbread, buns, etc. Obviously they would want proof of various things, like food hygeine certificate (I have), probably premises suitability, others. I won't do enough to make a living else I'd open my own bakery (future job, who knows).

I talked to a few shops and cafes about it but to be honest they wanted the cakes for such a tiny price it wasn't worth my while.

So I make birthday and wedding cakes to order instead.

I also do fairs, so summer galas and xmas markets etc so I can set my own prices.

I do. But I have regular customers- I live near a very touristy place, so,lots of cafes. I don't make a fortune, but it's a steady income.
